OF GODS AND HOLYMEN

OF GODS AND HOLYMEN.

Of all the religions in this world only Hinduism( there is no such word either in Vedas or in any scriptures but for the sake of easy understanding I am using the word inherited by us from the westerners) there is a reference which says that “What ever way God is called and worshipped it only goes to the One who is God>
Other religions do not take kindly of it and asserts the supremacy of their own God and their own way of worship.
We know that the temples in India were sacked by all the conquerors. Somnath was sached 17 times by Mohamed of Ghazni. Yet God did not manifest ad ward off the evil. The vijayanagara was sacked by the Bahamani Kings and all the temples destroyed. Yet the perpetrarors were not punished. The so called tipu sultan who everybody wants to call as tiger after the third mysore war gave 4 of his sons as collateral to Britishers. He was cowardly enough to fight the British to the finish. This tipu ws instrumental in destroying lots of temples outside the then mysore strate especially in the Kerala region and sacking of guruvayoor temple , forcfibly converting the Nairs and Namboodiris and carry off their women folk. Yet the Krishna of Guruvayoor did not come to the resue of these people. The same is the case of Kodagu kings whom he forced and got married to the sisters of the king of coorg. He also married the niece of Dewan poornaih(brother’s daughter) yet this condemnable behaviour of tipu was not prevented by God.
Let us to go Bengal. There one Kalicharan chattopadhyaya fell in love with a muslim girl. He wanted to marry her and wanted to convert her into Hinduism. He approached the scholars of varanasi and othr holy places. They refused toconvert herto Hinduism. The muslim girl was prepared to get converted. These pandits did not have any objection fot the muslim girl to be kept by Kali charan. For this purpose Kali was not prepared. So went to a Moulvi and got converted into Islam and he changed his name as “KalaPahad” and he vowed that he would destroy 1008 kali temples. He collected a band of fanatical muslims and did destroyed 1008 Kali temples in Bengal. Yet Kalapahad was not punished by Godf/Gpddess!!!
Now let us go to the time of Jewsus Christ. All the Bible that is available were written by his so called followers many years after the demise of Jesus. When Jesus was being crucified (even regarding it some of the followers of Jesus says that he was not crucified on a cross but on a wooden post. Let us leave this controversy for the present) Jesus cried aloud “Oh God why have you abandoned me”. So God did not save Jesus when he wsa being nailed to the wooden pole or cross.
Next let us take the case of Mohammed. He was illiterate and the Koran we have now is from the copy of the wood cut availabele in the Turkish library as on 1230 A H. during Mohameds life time he was forced to flee from mecca a madina. Yet his God did not punish the evil doers and came to the rescue of ohamed.
Next let us take the case of Jews. They were driven to slavery and with great difficulty they came out of it and as some 13 groups they wndered all over the world. Their own God also did not come to their help at the time of their dire need.
Let us take the case of Parsis. They wre driven out from the Persian soil. They sought refusge in the kingdom of the Gujarat king. Their God did not come to their rescue in the hour of need
Let us take the cse of Sri Ramanujacharya. He feared for his life from the Saivite king and took refuge in Melkote of Karnataka along with multitude of his disciples . He was supposede to have gone to the muslim King of Delhi and brought back the “Utsava Murthy”. It appears that he called “Selva [illai” (my dear child) and the idol which was in the strong room of the sultan of Delhi came running. In his venture the Dalits helped him a lot and then he p[ronounced that the Dalits should be called as “Tirukulaththar” (Peoplej belonging to sacred lineage) Ramanujacharya returned to Srirangam after the demise of the cruel king.God did not come to his rescue.
With all his powers he could not overcome the onslaught of the saivite king!!
Next let us take the case of “Vedantha desika”. He was an euridite scholar in sanskrit, manipravalam, tamil, prakrith alnguages and . he knew many art forms etc etc. once when a Brhmachari wanted some money for his marriage Deshika is said to have prayed to Goddess Sri Lakhmi and got lots of gold for this person. Also he is supposed to have the Darshan of Lord Garuda who taught him “Hayagriva Mantra’ yet when Mallikafur attacked Srirangam he came to Sathegal in Karnatak along with an entourage of disciples. Not only that the “Utsava Murhty of Srirangam was taken and toured all over the southe India by some devotees for nearly 42 years and retuned to Sri rangam after the normalcy was restored. God did not comde to his rescue.
I can cite many more examples. We see in many temples the votive offerings given by the devotees for having fulfilledows due to the intervention of God. What about those whose prayers were not fulfilled? Our recorde are silent about this.
All round I see that people being harassd in the nam of God and rituals. Let us take the example OF “Dharmasthala Manjunatha”. Does anyone other than “Hedge know the income generated by the Manjunatha temple? This is only a small example.
If I go on writing the blog about “God’s inaction” it may take many years to complete. I am not after educating the masses or on a mission. My stements are based only on common sense and nothing else.
MAY GOD HELP THOSE WHO BELIEVE

One of my colleagues was brought up in Russia. She did not pray when she was a kid and her entire family did not believe in god. She had a serious health situation, when I asked her whether she prayed for her health, she told me that it is difficult for her to believe in god. She asked me to pray for her instead. Then I realized, we both are equally right. It is difficult for me to not to believe in god.

That messy thing called 'mind' has created many destructive things. By far the most destructive of them all is God.
